Kate Brett-Castle

First picked up a club at the age of 7 as my parents decided to develop their farm into a golf course. At 13 I became the junior county champion and was my club champion at about 18.  I spent a couple of years working with Professionals at a golf driving range learning about club repairs, equipment etc. My handicap then was 5 but having decided i needed to finish my education I went back to school for A levels and a business degree. Time for golf during these years  was sparse and it didn't improve as I then went on into the corporate world and further studies.  In my early 30's i found myself sailing the 7 seas for 5 years, and only at the age of 37 did I land myself a job as a General Manager at Brampton Heath Golf Club in the UK which just about allowed me a chance to play on a regular basis. I played at league and county level when able and won my club championships.  I moved to South Africa 3 years ago and have had a bit more time to playgolf! I'm trying to catch and haven't finished!
