Courtney James is top kid at Eagle Canyon

12-year old Courtenay James, a grade 7 pupil at La
Lucia's Crawford College and a member of Mount Edgecombe Country
Club, came first in the U.S. Kids World Qualifier at Eagle Canyon
Golf Club in JHB on the weekend. This is the third year in a row
that she has won her age division.
Her final score of 80 was seven shots clear of her
nearest rival and 20 shots clear of third place. She now has
qualified to play in the following championships in America
and Europe:
1.U.S. Kids Golf World Championship in Pinehurst
2.Callaway Golf Championships at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
3.The Optimist Championship in Florida.
4.U.S. Kids European Golf Championship in Scotland.
In May 2009, Courtenay participated at the Old
Course St Andrews in Scotland, for her first appearance in the 2009
U.S. Kids European Championship in Gullane Scotland.
After three days competing at the links course in
Gullane from the 26-29 May, in freezing, rainy and windy conditions
Courtenay shot rounds of 81, 79 & 87 and ended a very commendable
5th in the Girls 11 age group.
